AN OPEN LETTER FROM 70 LOCAL LAWYERS

THE ATTORNEYS
WE TRUST,
TRUST PAT CONDON
for Lancaster County Attorney
EXPERIENCE. LEADERSHIP. PUBLIC SERVICE.

Dear Residents of Lancaster County:
As local attorneys, we have signed this open letter to show our
support for Pat Condon as he seeks his third term as Lancaster
County Attorney. We ask that you join us in supporting and voting
for Pat.
Leadership: Pat has more than 35 years with the Lancaster County
Attorney’s Office, including his last eight years as County Attorney.
Pat oversees 40 attorneys and more than 45 professional staff
members.
Experience: Pat’s experience is unmatched. His first major case
was the trial of Roger Bjorklund, who was charged along with Scott
Barney, with the death of Candace Harms, in 1992. Pat continued to
try many high-profile cases including: Byron Weaver, convicted of
murder for the death of his grandmother, Marie Hall; Brandon
Crago, in the double-murder of Carolyn and Steven Bailey; Armon
Dixon, for the rape of multiple women; Sharon Brewster, for the
arson of the LPS District Office; Patrick Combs, convicted of abuse
of a vulnerable adult; and Felipe Vazquez, convicted of the murder of
Lincoln Police Investigator Mario Herrera.
Pat’s commitment to seeking justice for victims has earned him the
support of law enforcement, including the Lincoln Police Union, the
Lancaster County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, former Lincoln
Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister, and Sheriff Terry Wagner.

Innovator: In 2018, Pat was involved with initiating Warrant
Week, enabling individuals with outstanding warrants to turn
themselves in and receive a new court date without going to jail.
Later, Pat helped develop Night Court. Under Pat’s leadership,
several new problem-solving programs have been developed,
including Intensive Supervised Diversion, Mental Health Diversion,
Youth Mental Health Diversion, Treatment Diversion, Veteran’s
Court expansion, and the state’s first post plea/pre-sentence DUI
Court. With nine adult diversion and problem-solving programs and
six juvenile diversion programs, Pat continues to keep the
community safe and save taxpayer dollars by reducing the jail and
prison population.
In 2024, Pat launched Nebraska’s first-ever Prosecutor Dashboard,
providing the community with unprecedented access to real-time
data on case referrals, charges, status updates, and convictions,
demonstrating Pat’s belief that the public deserves to know their
justice system is working.
Professional Affiliations: Pat is a current member and former
President of the Nebraska County Attorney’s Association (NECAA),
a member of the Nebraska County Attorney’s Standards Committee,
a member of the Nebraska Problem-Solving Court Committee, and
Executive Board member at BraveBe Child Advocacy Center. Pat has
twice been selected as Nebraska’s Prosecutor of the Year, in 2008
and 2023.
The role of the County Attorney is not political, but a responsibility.
Experience, leadership, and a steadfast commitment to the rule of
law matters. Pat embraces those attributes.
We ask for your support and your vote for Pat on
November 3rd.
