Mid-century modern home in northwest Omaha a blast from the past

Jeremy and Alesha Cerny have sold this midcentury modern home in northwest Omaha. The distinctive white-and-aqua house includes a courtyard entrance with a small inground pool.

Walk through the main gate into the courtyard and pool area.

Mike Loftus, owner and operator of Expert Pool Work, was excited to bring the pool back to life. "He recognized the uniqueness and how cool it was,” Alesha said.

The new owner asked to keep the curtains. That's an indoor grill under the television.

The Cernys built the breakfast bar from cupboards they found in the garage.

The house’s living room looks out onto the pool area. The Cernys will take their midcentury furniture to their new home near 118th and Pacific Streets.

The breakfast bar gives them some additional eating space.

Alesha Cerny said she just fell in love with the house, which was a rental when she first spotted it.

Jeremy needs more room for his fish collection, which is housed in the basement.

Jeremy has lots more fish tanks that will take a few weeks to move to the new house.

With its color, the house definitely stands out from its neighbors.

It stands out from its neighbors, not just because of the design but because owners Jeremy and Alesha Cerny returned it to its roots with a white and aqua paint job, similar to the colors it had when it was built in 1961.
