Built in 1928, the UNL horse barn was scheduled to be replaced by the Animal Science Complex. When the last market steers went to the Omaha Stockyards in the spring of 1987, the campus livestock manager had his hands full.

Nebraska Balloon and Wine Festival: August 12-13
Established in 2007, the Nebraska Balloon & Wine Festival provides guests with the unique opportunity to watch hot air balloons being released while enjoying delectable dishes and wine. While the balloons and cuisine remain the stars of the event, attendees can also enjoy live music provided by local talent, arts and crafts presentations and a variety of children’s activities.
This year's Balloon and Wine Festival will take place at the Coventry Campus in Omaha, on August 12-13. For more information about the Nebraska Balloon and Wine Festival, visit their website here.
