Joan Micklin Silver on the set of “Finnegan Begin Again,” a movie that aired on HBO in 1985. Silver directed seven movies for theatrical debuts and nine that were made for TV. Despite breaking barriers in Hollywood, she remains largely unknown outside of cinema circles, including in her home state of Nebraska.
