Claiborne Farm

Claiborne Farm's main stallion barn is home to some of the top racehorse sires in the country. The first stall on the left has housed a who's-who of sires -- Bold Ruler, Secretariat, Easy Goer and Unbridled.

Kentucky Horse Park

Plank fencing is everywhere in the Bluegrass. The fencing costs $18,000 per mile, and that doesn't include the cost of paint.

Victorian Square, a block of restored early-1900s buildings, is just across the street from a modern red-brick-and-glass office building in downtown Lexington, Ky.

This statue of a Bedouin and his Arabian horse greet visitors to the Al-Marah Arabian Horse Galleries in the International Museum of the Horse at the Kentucky Horse Park.

Keeneland Racecourse is located on 1,000 acres west of Lexington, Ky. It's considered one of the world's most beautiful racetracks.

Groom Kevin Lay shows off 2013 Kentucky Derby winner Orb, who was bred at Claiborne Farm and will begin his stud career there beginning in 2014. Orb recently arrived at the farm after being retired from racing.

The legendary Secretariat was bred at Claiborne Farm and stood his entire stud career there. He is buried in the farm's main cemetery, along with his sire, Bold Ruler, and both grandsires -- Nasrullah and Princequillo.
