Timeline of events

* At 1 a.m., Germichael Kennedy gets into a fight with a man in the area of Portia and Knox streets. He threatens to shoot somebody and punches a 24-year-old man in the face.

* At 2:11 a.m., Kennedy is pulled over by a Lincoln police officer at 12th and O streets for going the wrong way on a one-way street. He is let go four minutes later.

* At 2:26 a.m., Kennedy is pulled over by a University of Nebraska-Lincoln police officer at 16th and P streets. That stop lasts 23 minutes and he’s let go with a citation.

* Around 3 a.m., Kennedy gets into a second fight near Portia and Knox streets. He’s assaulted. At roughly the same time, Marlene Rashidi and her friends are in a nearby apartment getting ready for a party.

* At 3:10 a.m., Kennedy shows up to a friend’s apartment at 12th and D streets, grabs a gun and leaves.

* Between 3:10 and 3:45, Rashidi and Dezarae Mann are shot on Portia between Knox and Adams streets. The shootings are separated by about 45 seconds to a minute.

* At 3:45 a.m., Lincoln police officers are called to 21st and K streets about Rashidi being a shooting victim.

* About 6:45 a.m., police find Kennedy’s car parked in a lot at 20th and Cornhusker.

* At 9 a.m., police receive a report that Kennedy is on Conestoga Drive, a street off Portia just south of Hartley.

* A short time later, Kennedy struggles with an officer and takes off running westbound. The pursuit continues to 14th Street, where Kennedy is shot just north of Judson.
