National human trafficking facts
* In 2015, the National Human Trafficking Resource Center got 21,947 calls, 1,535 webforms and 1,275 emails to report tips about trafficking. Out of those came 5,544 cases and more than 6,000 victims.
* More than 1,600 survivors contacted the center’s hotline for help in 2015, a 24 percent increase over 2014.
* 5,544 cases of human trafficking were reported in the U.S. in 2015. Of those, 4,136 were sex trafficking.
* One in six endangered runaways is estimated to become a sex trafficking victim.
