Lincoln native Kevin Bass and a robot he helped build, Robonaut 2, as a member of a NASA team. He works for Oceaneering Space Systems, a contractor for NASA. R2, as the robot is known, is the latest generation of the Robonaut astronaut helpers. It is set to launch to the space station aboard space shuttle Discovery on the STS-133 mission, Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011.
