The fossa, which was introduced to the Lincoln Children's Zoo last year, reportedly bit a 2-year-old zoo visitor on Sunday. The fossa has characteristics of a cat, monkey and weasel but is actually related to the mongoose.

Authorities say a 2-year-old was taken to the hospital after suffering an animal bite at the Lincoln Children's Zoo Sunday afternoon.
