Some of the most visible Husker fans at Memorial Stadium are in the student section, and the most passionate ones -- who have never seen a bowl game while at the school -- talk about their pride.
NU FB Student Fans
Name: Cooper Axe
Major: Business administration
Hometown: Fort Collins, Colorado
Grade: Freshman
What it means to be a Husker fan: "For me, being a Husker fan is simply enjoying being a part of the Husker family. This community is so amazing and energetic; being able to add to that spirit is what makes me a proud Husker fan."
EAKIN HOWARD, Journal Star
NU FB Student Fans
Name: Sarah Person
Major: Sports media and communications
Hometown: Polk
Grade: Freshman
What it means to be a Husker fan: "Being a Husker fan means everything to me! I have been a diehard fan my entire life. I eat, sleep and breathe the Huskers. ... It doesn’t matter if they are winless or undefeated; we still support them all the way through! We also stick together in all kinds of weather as the great song goes, I’ve been to games where it was 95+ and I’ve been to games when it was below freezing outside! Being a Husker fan is my ultimate passion in life, the only thing I really do is going to games! My room is basically a shrine to them."
EAKIN HOWARD, Journal Star
NU FB Student Fans
Name: Kaleb Baumgartel
Major: Construction management
Hometown: Norfolk
Grade: Sophomore
What it means to be a Husker fan: "What it means to be a Huskers fan to me is to be loyal and supportive through the losses and adversity we face. The Huskers (are) Nebraska's football team. We do not have a professional team, which gives the people the opportunity to put our hearts and souls into this team."
EAKIN HOWARD, Journal Star
NU FB Student Fans

What it means to be a Husker fan: "Being a Husker fan means to be a part of something bigger than yourself. As a Husker fan, you are part of a family that supports each other. The support can be shown wearing red for every game day, but it is so much bigger than that. Memorial Stadium is the home of our Lincoln community."
