Woman's Lincoln rental property burned in an electrical fire. Or was it an arson?

House fire 4.26

Mary O’Hare checks out the damage to her property at 2346 C St. last week. The home, which had been converted to apartments, suffered heavy damage in a fire March 19. While fire investigators initially ruled the fire accidental, she suspects they may be wrong.

House fire 4.26

Debris settled over children's toys and other items the 20-year-old tenant left behind as she escaped a March 19 fire out a second-floor window with her 1-year-old twin daughters.

The fire had started in the staircase leading up to the second-floor unit, where a 20-year-old mother lived with her two daughters.

Investigators initially ruled the March 19 fire at 2346 C St. an accidental electrical fire, but have since changed its official designation to "undetermined" and under further investigation.

She had been in the two-story home at 2346 C St. countless times before, but Mary O'Hare had never seen her property as she did Tuesday afternoon, more than a month after a fire broke out in the early-morning hours of March 19.

House fire 4.26

Mary O’Hare checks out the damage to her property at 2346 C St. last week. The home, which had been converted to apartments, suffered heavy damage in a fire March 19. While fire investigators initially ruled the fire accidental, she suspects they may be wrong.
