Details remained scarce late Monday in the investigation of an apparent murder-suicide that left three U.S. Postal Service workers dead in a northeast Lincoln home Sunday.

Police said they will wait for autopsy results before saying what killed Tina Jensen, 53, Norma Voges, 55, and Ronald "Blake" Heritage, 50, but online police records classified two of the deaths as murder/manslaughter by gunshot and one as a suicide.

The three co-workers were found early Sunday afternoon at 6715 Bethany Park Drive near 66th and Vine streets.

Monday morning, Chief Jeff Bliemeister said relatives of Jensen called 911 at 1:14 p.m. after finding two of the bodies. Investigators found a third person inside.

Bliemeister wouldn’t say who was found where in the house that Heritage bought in 2006. Police also didn't say how long the three had been dead, but Jensen and Voges had been in touch with family and friends Saturday afternoon, they said.

The chief said police had been called to the residence before, but not recently.

Heritage and Jensen were in a relationship, according to police.

Coworker Kristi Burklund said Voges was a longtime friend of the couple and was helping Jensen move out of the Bethany Park house.

An employee of the Postal Service for 24 years, Burklund said she had worked with all three of them off and on.

Voges and Jensen had bubbly personalities and were very close, she said, adding that Jensen lived with Voges' family for a time.

She said she saw Jensen a week ago, and like usual, she was upbeat and happy.

"That’s why it’s all so shocking,” Burklund said. "I don’t know what happened."

According to online records, Jensen was a custodian for the Postal Service, Voges was a city letter carrier and Heritage was a supervisor of distribution operations.

Jim Szakonyi, a friend and co-orker of all three, said Heritage had recently become a supervisor with the postal service in Omaha.

"It was a larger plant and there were more opportunities to move up the ladder and into management, which is the track he was on," he said.

Szakonyi said he worked with Jensen for 10 or 12 years in Lincoln.

"She was really personable and very friendly," he said. "Her and (Voges) were very close friends."

Crime scene technicians worked at the house for several hours on Sunday, and police said they found a gun and evidence that it was discharged inside the house.

This is the second murder-suicide this year and brings the city’s homicide total to six. Last year, there was one homicide in Lincoln.
