A driver drove Wednesday into concrete at 48th and Old Cheney, which is part of the pavement repair project from 40th to Highway 2.

A driver drove into fresh concrete at 48th Street and Old Cheney Road last week. The stretch is part of the pavement repair project from 40th to Nebraska 2. Police believe there was room for an honest mistake by the driver. The gap between cones where the driver pulled through was 24 feet, wider than the gaps between the other cones deterring drivers. The accident report said: “It was plausible that V1 (vehicle 1) thought it was an opening to the turn lane."
