'It became more important' -- Two-story mural takes a personal turn for Lincoln artist

David Manzanares stands in front of his finished mural, his father — who died from COVID-19 in September — depicted directly behind him. The artist finished the mural at 11th and G streets in time for the Day of the Dead celebration in November, and dozens of mourners lit candles and brought photos, food and flowers for their lost loved ones.
