The Lincoln Children's Zoo's new electric, zero-emission train engine goes to work Saturday. The silent electric motor doesn't make the chug-chug-chugging of traditional trains, so that sound had to be manufactured.

Expanded capacity, extended hours
The Lincoln Children’s Zoo announced a few changes to its socially distanced Wildlife Walks, which began when the zoo reopened earlier this month.
* Starting Thursday, the zoo increased its hours:
Sunday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (with last entry at 2:45 p.m.)
Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last entry at 3:45 p.m.)
* The change allows the zoo to sell more tickets, though they still must be reserved at lincolnzoo.org/visit.
* Also, the zoo has reopened its Animal Kingdom Building, The Hive and its pony rides.
