Mother's room at Nebraska Capitol temporarily converted to office, angering some senators

1 of 2

Breastfeeding at the Capitol

After complaints about the lack of a place for pregnant and nursing mothers, the state installed a "pod." Eventually a mother’s room was created at the Capitol thanks to private donations and efforts by Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh. That room now is temporarily being used as an office, which has angered some senators. The pod, pictured here in a room with copiers on the first floor, is currently being offered as an alternative to the room for mothers.
