OMAHA — The nation's largest railroad union joined the list of companies endorsing Union Pacific's proposed $85 billion acquisition of Norfolk Southern Monday after securing promises to protect jobs, but other unions and chemical makers that rely on the railroads are still expressing concerns about the deal.

Dozens of train fans in motor vehicles, including a family this SUV, closely and slowly followed the Union Pacific "Big Boy" 4014 on Sunday, June 11, as it traveled on the train tracks adjacent to U.S. Highway 30.
