A 22-year-old Omaha man taken into custody in connection with a fatal shooting in the Old Market has been charged in an arrest warrant with manslaughter.
Arrion Patterson is accused of fatally shooting Ja’Sean Coleman, 24, of Omaha. He appeared at a hearing Wednesday morning in Douglas County Court and was ordered held on $50,000 bail. Patterson must pay 10% of that amount, $5,000, to be released from jail.
Omaha police were called to the area of 12th and Howard Streets just before 12:30 a.m. Monday for a disturbance. They located Coleman in a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a gunshot wound.
Coleman was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His death is the third homicide recorded this year in Omaha.

According to the arrest warrant, investigators took Patterson and two witnesses to Omaha police headquarters for interviews. During the course of the investigation, a search warrant was issued for the Jeep.
The search turned up one .40-caliber bullet casing on the floorboard in the back seat on the driver’s side. Officers also found a Glock 23 pistol with an extended magazine of .40-caliber ammunition in the back seat on the driver’s side. The gun was determined to belong to Patterson.
During interviews with the witnesses, according to the arrest warrant, it was determined that “Patterson intentionally pointed a firearm” at Coleman, who was subsequently shot by Patterson.
