Republican Jeremy Hosein and Brent Comstock, a nonpartistan, are vying for the District 1 seat on the Board of Regents.

University of Nebraska Board of Regents

The University of Nebraska’s eight elected regents serve six-year terms. They hire the university president, set student rates and approve budgets, building projects and academic programs. Regents are unpaid.

Three nonpartisan seats are on this year’s ballot. In District 1, Brent Comstock and Jeremy Hosein seek to replace Tim Clare. Elizabeth Butler and Jill Wolfe are running to replace Jack Stark in District 2. Susanne Shore and Justin Solomon face off in District 4; appointed interim Regent Joel Makovicka did not file to run.
