Tauni Waddington and Sheryl Teslow have constructed an open air "fort" in their backyard so the couple could continue to socialize with their close cadre of friends during the pandemic. Built out of PVC pipe, tarp, ropes, and some well placed propane heaters, they are able to stay warm outside. They gather every Saturday starting at 5:30 for a socially-distanced potluck and conversation. Sometimes a movie. they played cards every Saturday for years before the pandemic. 1983 - 405,988 pounds of food distributed;
1986 - Moved to 57th Street and Russell Drive;
1997 - Moved to current location at 4840 Doris Bair Circle;
2001 - Doubled to over 2 million pounds of food distributed from just 9 years before;
2013 - Over 10 million pounds of food distributed, 8,456,299 meals;
2018 - 100 millionth pound of food distributed;
2020 - Distributed more than 11 million meals (2020 fiscal year ending June 30).
