Ronald Roy Herrington
February 11, 1936 - October 17, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Ronald Herrington, 90, of Lincoln, on Saturday, October 17.
Born and raised in Plattsmouth, he was the son of the late Lewis and Gladys (Lovelace) Herrington. Ronald married Patty (Shaw) Herrington in December 1953, went on to join the Naval Reserve, and then began his lustrous 50 year career at Goodyear Tire & Rubber plant in Lincoln.
In his younger years, he was an avid camper, water skier, and traveler, enjoying family adventures and time spent waterskiing. In retirement, he and his wife, Patty, spent many years traveling the country in their RV. Above all, he cherished time spent with family, especially during the holidays.
Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patty Herrington; his twin brother, Donald, brothers, Howard and Robert; his sisters, Beverly and Laurie; and his son, Jeffrey Herrington.
He is survived by his children, Richard (Ellyn) Herrington of Mountain Top, Pa.; Jacqueline (Bob) Furasek of Touhy, Neb.; Penny Herrington of Lincoln, Neb.; and daughter in-law, Tammie Herrington of Lincoln, Neb.; along with seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends who will all miss him dearly.
A memorial service for Ronald will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 2 p.m., at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St., Lincoln, Nebraska 68512. A luncheon is set to follow services in the reception hall at the funeral home. Memorials are in the care of the family for future designation.
