Ann Foster Obituary
Ann Marie Fisher Foster, born June 18, 1939, passed away October 16, 2026, at home with her family around her. She was a compassionate, much-loved woman with a magnetic personality who brought energy to every room she entered. She was a dynamic force in the lives of everyone she met and had a gift for making people feel welcome, supported, and loved.
Ann was born to Fred and Vertie Fisher and grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. She graduated from Lincoln High School and completed two years of study at the University of Nebraska.
She married John R. Foster of Lincoln at First Christian Church on December 28, 1958, where she remained a lifelong member. Over the years, she served the church as a secretary, youth group leader, choir member, women's group member, and more.
Ann and John began their family in Riverton, Wyoming, where their first child, Kindra Ann, was born. The family later returned to Lincoln, where their children Bradley John and Karen Marie were born. They also lived in Los Angeles, California, and Denver, Colorado, before returning to Lincoln to stay in 1968.
Throughout her working life, Ann worked as a hardware store clerk and chairside dental assistant. She also helped manage the family's Kwik Shop and home construction company.
Ann will be remembered for her warmth, compassion, lively spirit, and genuine friendliness toward others. Her presence, humor, and encouragement made an impression on the people she met, and she will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Louis Fisher and Vertie Irene Temple Fisher, and her brother, Roger Fred Fisher of central Iowa.
No service is planned. Memorial contributions in Ann's honor may be made to Samaritan's Purse.
