Ranking the Big Ten's Best: Nos. 21-25

Husker Extra's Brian Christopherson offers his preseason Big Ten players to watch, starting with Nos. 25 through 21.
25. Tyler Marz, OT, Wisconsin
The Badgers must replace three starters up front, but the left tackle spot is spoken for by a very large man.
As if they come any other way on that Wisconsin O-line.

24. Justin Jackson, RB, Northwestern
Husker fans remember this guy. He was the freshman who had the Nebraska defense on ice skates early in last year’s game, running for 99 yards in the first half.
Slippery.

23. Jabrill Peppers, S, Michigan
A five-star recruit out of high school, Peppers had his much anticipated debut season last year cut down to just three games because of a leg injury. But the 6-foot-1, 205-pound redshirt freshman has come back to already win over his new head coach Jim Harbaugh.
As Mlive.com reported: “If you were reading between the lines of coach speak this spring, it’d be rather easy to figure out that Peppers had the best camp of any defensive player Michigan had. He’s basically the only player Harbaugh’s singled out and heaped praise upon on multiple occasions.”

22. De’Mornay Pierson-El, WR, Nebraska
It took one fall for Pierson-El to become a big man on campus. Three punt returns for touchdown have a way of winning hearts in a hurry.
He averaged 17.5 yards a return last season, leading the country with 596 return yards. Even if punters do try to kick away from him this year, they’ll likely give up some field position in the effort.

21. Corey Clement, RB, Wisconsin
He’s not going to be Melvin Gordon, but Clement is a pretty good darn back in his own right and could make a run at all-conference if that offensive line comes together.
Even in the shadows last year, Clement rushed for 949 yards and nine touchdowns. Wisconsin’s running game is going to have to be good because quarterback Joel Stave’s arm probably isn’t going to strike fear into most.

Big Ten countdown: Pierson-El a secret no longer
In the summer of 2014, De’Mornay Pierson-El was trying to find his way around a new campus, certainly not a household name in this state.
