Blades drawn to Nebraska by coaches' sincerity

PASADENA, Calif. — Throughout the recruiting cycle leading up National Signing Day, four-star cornerback Elijah Blades made it clear he had Nebraska in the back of his mind.

The native of Pasadena spoke excitedly about his interest in the Huskers and his plans to see Lincoln in person, but after verbally committing to Florida in the summer and failing to take an official visit through 2016, Nebraska's chances had seemed to slip.

Riley: Huskers fortunate to get in-state lineman Chris Walker

Nebraska signed four in-state players to its scholarship class with Austin Allen, Broc Bando, Jaylin Bradley and Chris Walker.

Gebbia one of the magnets of this Husker class

There were two recruits who Mike Riley described as "magnets" to this Husker recruiting class. One, as might be guessed, was wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson Jr. The other was quarterback Tristan Gebbia.

PASADENA, Calif. — Throughout the recruiting cycle leading up National Signing Day, four-star cornerback Elijah Blades made it clear he had Nebraska in the back of his mind.

It was a stylish commitment for linebacker Willie Hampton, who made his 10-month-long pledge to Nebraska official Wednesday.
