A suspected tornado destroyed the garage on a Ithaca farmstead, tossing the remnants onto the roof of a nearby home. Tornadoes, rare events in December in Nebraska, were reported from near Hastings, in northeast Nebraska near Columbus and north of Lincoln.

A funnel cloud formed on the west side of Wood River at 1:45 p.m. The sky became brown-gray, and moments later a powerful rush of wind and rain struck the town. It cleared and calmed within five minutes and the storm moved northeast scattering debris, damaging fences and knocking down some power lines.
